Mike Mailman

Shears 101 was developed to teach students and professionals about the tools they use. “In this class, we will focus on teaching you about how a shear is made so you will know what to look for when purchasing new tools. We will share with you the difference in steel types, heat treating and tempering methods, edge design, and the difference between one piece forgings, two piece construction and casting. We will also cover the advantages and disadvantages of titanium coatings,” says Mike.
